Features of Kshitij 2009 Involves more than 20 Departments Inaugaration Inauguaration was attended and graced by celebrities like Vivek Oberoi, Indra Kumar, Ranvir Shorey, Parag Desai, Paritosh Painter, Balvinder Singh and Dipen Desai. Many events attended and judged by various celebrities like Anu Malik, Satish Kaushik, Ken Ghosh, Rohit Shetty, Sanjay Manjrekar, Vishal Malhotra, Parvati Omanakkuttan, Alim Hakim and Robin Bhatt. A video on 26/11 Terrorist Attacks ‘AZAAD 26/11’ by Manish Jain, Rahul Bhatt, Minal Vaid, Jay Bhanushali (students of Mithibai College) was produced and played to spread a message of Peace and Harmony among the students and society. A nonstop 45 minute Dance Performance by more than 100 students at the Inaugaration Ceremony. Western and Indian music fusion performance by artists of ‘SAMARPAN’, a group led by Mr. Ojas Adhiya, an ex-mithibaite. Renowned bands such as ‘ZERO’ (led by Mr. Warren Mendonsa, an ex-mithibaite), ‘BLACKSTRATBLUES’ and ‘SCRIBE’ hit the stage on 16th dec 2009. There were over 5,000 rock fans present and their cheering clearly showed that they did not want the night to end. Beckham and Ronaldo’s tricks were taught by Adrian Fernandez, Prathimish Vadia and Vishnu Kumar in the ‘FOOTBALL FREESTYLE’ workshop ‘RAQS SHARQI’ the Belly Dancing event was judged by Pia and Abhilasha from the Veve Dance Company. Sufi-Gazal Singing Competition and workshop was judged and guided by Bhavdeep Jaipurwala and Pradeep Gandharvah with their vocal cords ‘HYPNOSIS’ workshop was conducted by Dr. Rajeev Nyru over 15 people learnt the Art of Hypnosis accompanied by a demonstration where 2-3 were hypnotized. An event based on Silent and Monochromatic Cinematic Era of the 20s and the 30s was recreated by 5 teams in ‘JESTER’S GESTURES’ which was judged by the well known director Sateesh Kaushik. Dance style of Arabia in the ‘BELLY DANCING’ workshop was conducted by well known dancer veronica from the veve dance group. On the Pronite of 17th Dec entire JRM was spellbound by the tantalizing sounds of ‘JALABEE CARTEL’ and ‘BLAKC’. The Pronite on 18th Dec that featured ‘JUGGY-D’ and ‘B- PROJECT’ more than 7,000 students witnessed the event. Lots of exciting prizes were awarded to the winners and participants. Trophies and mementoes were awarded to ‘H.R. COLLEGE’ the winner and ‘XAVIERS COLLEGE’ the runners up of Kshitij’09 Venues for Kshitij ’09 were provided by kind and unending support from the Mentor S.V.K.M. Kshitij’09 was indeed a memorable event cherished by one and all.
