Honours Programme (Degree College)

Mithibai College has initiated the Honours Programme to help students update themselves in a world where knowledge is ever expanding. The programme is a supplementary course that seeks to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and the practical need of the job market. It provides the students with a hands on experience of thr Industry and is open to under-graduate and post graduate students.


It incorporates personality development, presentation skill, communication skills and entrepreneurship management. It also provide intensive training to the students to help them perform well at an interview. Students are required to complete 180 credits during the three year degree course in the modules of their choice.


Honours Programme (at Degree level) in all streams

Aim : To provide Industry Oriented Training & exposure to the Corporate World with Allround Development of the students.
Eligibility : Undergraduate student of Mithibai College.

The students were also taken on a field trip to Goa. A group of 22 students, accompanied by three teachers from the commerce faculty, went on an industrial visit to Goa Several local industries were visited by the students. The first was the ‘Zantye Cashew,’ where they were able to see for themselves the roasting, shelling and peeling process. The best part of Zantye Cashew is that it generates employment for local unskilled labourers. Their next visit was to the ‘Elegant Offset Printers,’ which is an outsourcing arm of the ‘Times Of India’ in Goa. They print a staggering 1 lakh copies of TOI and other local dailies in a day. The ‘Goan Bounty Fisheries’ was the next stop. Students also visited ‘Propack Packaging,’ which specializes in packaging boxes. The trip concluded with a visit to D-link which manufactures computer hardware.

The SYBA students participated in a programme on Yoga-Mind and Memory, at the Yoga Institute, Santacruz, for two days. These students are given placements and they have to put in a minimum of 100 hours of work in their respective work places. Four students have been placed at Compound Motor Inst., one at Schiller India, one with Dr. Rajiv Anand, two students with C.N.M school to assist the Counsellor, five students with Cozy Clinic, to assist Mr. N. Kinger. Three students are working with autistic children, while two are helping our college staff with research work.

Honours Programme for Science Faculty

In academic year 2009-10 Honours programme in science was conducted for the second year B.Sc programme.

The objective of this programme was to develop skills other than their subject, which can help them n their future in their career. Various workshops/courses organised for them.
